Christmas Coasters

Hello Y'all!

How are you doing?  I am having a HARD time understanding how November is right around the corner!!!  My year is flying by, but it's going to pick up even more speed.  So I might as well start thinking of Christmas. ;)

Speaking of Christmas, I am sharing my latest design team project for Scrapping 4 Fun Challenges and the theme is Christmas.



After spending quite a bit of time at the craft store pondering what to do, I settled on this little wooden box:

The clock and the leaves were fussy cut from pattern paper.

(Supplies: wooden box- & coasters Beverly's; pattern paper- Graphic 45; Mod Podge; ribbon; hot glue gun; Santa die-cut and banner- Kaiser;  gold pen; silver pen)

Can you believe that I used only 2 pieces of 12*12 paper for the whole project?!  :D  Yep, that was all.

Baffling Bats

Hello Everyone!!!

How is Fall (or if you're in the southern hemisphere- Spring) treating you?  I am so looking forward to Fall- cooler weather, crisp leaves, pumpkin pie....  Yep, Fall is my favorite season.

And speaking of Fall, I am stopping by to share my DT project for Scrapping 4 Fun Challenges, which happens to be a Spring/Fall challenge.  In other words, you can create a Spring or Fall project.

So what creative, sweet, kid-loving event falls in autumn?....
You guessed it-  Halloween.  Now, I must confess something.  I am not a huge Halloween fan (sorry Six).  However, I do enjoy seeing the creative costumes, eating candy, and celebrating my Mom's birthday. :)

So on that note, I created a simple and quick Halloween project for a Halloween-loving friend.  Let's begin. :D

I used a silver glitter pen and traced the spider webs, but it's hard to tell in the photos.  Don't these 2 look mischievous?

I used Mod-Podge to adhere the pattern paper onto the clipboard.

(Supplies: pattern paper- Graphic 45; clipboard; Mod-Podge; foam brush; ribbon)

Clothed in Strength

Hola Friends!

I am stopping by to share my project for the new challenge at Scrapping 4 Fun Challenges.  The challenge is to use at least 3 colors from this color scheme: 


I created a home décor piece.  Let's begin with some detail pictures:

I distressed 2 flowers with a Tim Holtz marker in "Crushed Olive" and added glitter to the third one.  I stamped the leaves onto vellum, cut them, and added glossy accents.

I paper-pieced the bottom part of the dress & colored everything else with colored pencils and a marker.  I added glossy accents to the bow.

Sorry about the lighting.  The light source was behind the décor.

(Supplies: canvas; cardstock; pattern paper- my stash; stamps- Unity Stamp Co.; glossy accents; flowers- Recollections; distress marker- Tim Holtz; glitter- Martha Stewart; pearls & gem stone- Bo Bunny; ribbon; vellum; black ink)

Technique Time

Hello Again!

I am popping in again today to share my design team project for Scrapping 4 Fun Challenges.  The new challenge is to create a technique project (i.e. masking, tearing, inking, embossing, watercolor, weaving, folding, etc.)

I have been really inspired by my teammate, Sarah, to create an art canvas.  Needless to say, I need LOTS of practice, but here is my first ever art canvas:

I cut the flowers with my Cameo and then pieced them together.  I added a bit of glitter glue to the middle.

The techniques I used are tearing, die-cutting, paper-piecing, & embossing.

(Supplies: blank canvas, pattern paper, cardstock, Mod Podge, embossing paste, stencils- The Crafter's Workshop & Prima, butterfly punch- Martha Stewart, glitter glue- Martha Stewart, blue acrylic paint, phrase die-cut -Silhouette Cameo)

This phrase- "Be Yourself.  Everyone Else is Taken," really resonated with me and it reminded me of my high school days.  Let me tell you why.  In high school (eons ago!), my best friend, who is also my cousin, was a very popular girl.  And it was easy to see why.  She was outgoing, cheerful, funny and friendly.  I was quiet, shy, and although friendly, not very talkative. 
So one day I decided I wanted to be like her, so I can be popular, too. :-) So I began being bouncy and chatty and hyper.  But guess what?  It was EXHAUSTING to be her!!! Needless to say, I gave it up after one day and decided I was just going to be ME. :)

Teacher Projects

Hello Everyone,

I'm sad that summer is coming to an end soon (except the heat).  However, Fall is my favorite season.  It is also the beginning of school!!  So today I would like to share a couple projects for a teacher or anyone who likes cute, flowery stuff.  They can also be made with masculine or sports patterned paper for the male teachers/coaches.  (And female coaches!) :)
First, let me confess that I wasn't bright enough to remove the top clip before adding the paper.  So there's a little gap in between the paper & the clip (Shhh, that's why I kept this one). 
    

Please ignore the Mod-Podge glare in the pictures.  It really doesn't look that bright unless I hold a BIG light above it.  :0

I originally wanted to create cards or a layout with these papers, but they were too pretty for me to let go off.  :)
