Christmas Cards

Hello Friends!

How are you? Are you finished with your Christmas shopping?  Me?  Not even close and Christmas is around the corner. Yikes!

Anyways, I'm stopping by to share some super simple Christmas cards that I made recently.  And I do mean simple, which made mass production a breeze.

I used a large stamp that includes all these Christmas sentiments and embossed them in metallic silver powder.  Then I added a few sequins as a final touch and called it done! :) 

I love how the embossing reflects the light but made it a bit tricky to photograph.

The card on the left wasn't embossed.  I just used white ink, which I liked as well (but lacked the pizzazz).

(Supplies: cardstock; stamp- Stampendous; versa mark ink; metallic silver embossing powder- Zing; embellishments; hot gun; glossy accents)

I also used a blue background with the silver embossing.  However, those cards were mailed off before I could photograph them. :)

Blooming Birthday

Happy Monday!

Did you have a good weekend?  Mine consisted of headaches induced by the heat and my dance kids.  Yep, I could tell school is out because their concentration was gone!!  Deep breath.... Better. :)

Ok, let's get to some happy stuff. ;)  I created a simple, yet bright, one layer card. 

I added glitter glue to the center of the flower and butterflies.

(Supplies: cardstock; ink- Color Box & Memento; sentiment stamp- Papertrey Ink; image stamps- Stampendous & Recollections; glitter glue- Martha Stewart)

Perfect Pearls Projects

Hello All!

I am running on little sleep, so I hope my words on this post make sense. If not, please let me know.  :0)

Today I am sharing some cards that use Perfect Pearls.  I FINALLY got the chance to try them, and I really like them.  Perfect Pearls is a powder that you brush onto images stamped with Versa Mark ink.  And let me tell, they reflect the light beautifully.  Dark paper works best for this product.  Again, my apologies for the grainy pictures. 

I know I have shown you the following stamp before, so I'm sure you're bored with it.  But I like the mileage I'm getting out of it. :) 

(Supplies: cardstock, stamps- Stampendous! & Craft Smart, rhinestone- Bo Bunny, Perfect Pearls in Sour Apple & Pink Gumball, Versa Mark ink, small paint brush)

I am entering the next card to One Layer Simplicity Challenge.  The current challenge is to repeat an image or sentiment.  By the way, I used a pencil eraser to create the 3 dots in the top corner.  Who knew a simple school tool could be so handy in crafting? :)

Flower Power Pack with Love

Hey Y'all!!

I hope you are having a wonderful week so far.  We Central/Southern Californians are being a bit spoiled with our weather.  Can you believe it was 70 today?!   

Well, I am popping in today to share a Valentine's Day card & more "Flower Power" cards that are similar to the red one I shared here.  And since I liked the design, (as well as my Facebook friends :D) I decided to recreate it in different shades of blue.  I made 2 for each color.
I call these the "Flower Power Pack."

   
And here is my Valentine's Day card, which was quick and simple.  I used a Project-Life type of card for the center.

Flower Power

Howdy Folks!

I hope you enjoyed your weekend and are well rested for the week. :)  Thankfully, it will be a short week for some, since it's a holiday today: Martin Luther King Jr. day. :)

Well, I recently came across a new blog, One Layer Simplicity Challenge that is solely dedicated to 1 layer cards, so today's card will be posted to their challenge.  The theme is "Restocking the Shelf," meaning any theme that you need to replenish in your stash.  I definitely need to replenish my "thank you" cards, so I chose a "sketch" that I can easily mass produce.

Let's begin with some detail pictures.

Festive Friday Challenge

Happy Saturday All!

I hope you are having a wonderful weekend so far.  My weekend began with a get-together with friends last night that I haven't seen in a lonnggg time.  So it has been a great start so far. :)

Well, today I am popping in to share a holiday card.  I used the color challenge at Festive Friday blog.  Blue is my favorite color, so I just love this color combination.



I thought and thought for a few days about how to create my card.  And here is the final result:

I think I'll continue using this color combination for more cards.

Red Snow

Hello All,

I did something crazy today.  I went to the Zumba class at my gym.  Ok, it's NOT that crazy, but it's crazy how much energy the instructor had!!  I should mention that it was my very first Zumba class.  Loved the music and dancing, but after 15 minutes my body was ready to quit!  But I stuck with it for the WHOLE hour.  I'm debating on ever returning.  ;-p
  
Ok, on to relaxing stuff (crafting is relaxing for me).  I am sharing a Christmas card today.  I rarely add pattern paper to my cards, but I like how this one came out.  I'm thinking I should use it more often.  I don't recall the manufacturer of the pattern paper, but I think it's My Mind's Eye.  Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Found Mojo! Late for Challenge.

Hi Crafty Friends!

I hope you are enjoying your weekend.  I was having trouble finding my mojo recently.  But I found it last night!!! :D  I was able to craft up a little storm (I'll be sharing those creations later on).  The first card I am sharing was actually created earlier in the week when I was itching to craft but didn't have much energy.  I used a paper stencil I already had to create the hearts.  I simply filled in the hearts with a sponge dauber, added the sentiment, and some sequins.  It was a really quick card.

The next card was for a challenge, but I just realized that I am LATE!  So what's new?...  :-)'  Anyways, the challenge was to use kraft, red, and white for a Christmas card.  Here is my interpretation:

The red panel is actually a leftover strip of "velvety" paper.  I haven't been able to find it again.  It's hard to tell, but I added a tiny drop of white glitter glue to the snowflakes.

Tags & Watercolor

Howdy Folks!

Well, I mentioned in my previous post that I am experimenting with watercolors.  So today I have another card using watercolors.  Now, I will confess that I am not an artist.  I inherited my father's drawing abilities (He's great with stick figures.  Sorry dad).  :-)  It's kind of sad when I'm illustrating a concept for my students & they end up more confused!  :-P  (I guess I should have taken the art class instead of drama.)...

For this card, I traced a die-cut of a butterfly.  Then I painted it with a turquoise watercolor. After it dried, I cut it out & added some glitter glue, which I like, but I also discovered that the glue actually makes the watercolor fade!!!  Guess I won't be doing that again!  Then I stamped 3 flowers & colored them in with watercolor pencils.  The sentiment is from My Favorite Things.

For those of you who are Moxie Fab World followers, you know that Cath has several challenges going on.  One of the challenges is holiday gift tags.  So I created a little tag, but I am too sheepish to submit it.  (Have you seen all those fantastic submissions!!!)  But I will share it with you.  :)

 
 I used cute snowflake stamp from Stampendous! & a paper punch from Martha Stewart.
