Denim Decor

Hello Everyone!

How is your week going so far?  I hope you are enjoying your summer.  I'm enjoying mine by staying away from the heat. :D

Well, I am stopping by to share my recent creation.  Since summer is a great season for outdoor (and indoor) parties/get-togethers, I decided to create a little piece of party décor- a "denim" banner.

I added faux stitching around the letters and edges.

I love creating banners.  They are festive and usually, simple to create.  I wanted this banner to be not only decorative, but functional, too.  (I apologize for the grainy picture.  The light was beginning to fade.)

And here is the functional part: I added storage compartments on the ends for light-weight party necessities (napkins, utensils, straws, etc.)

And in keeping with the denim theme, I sewed some placemats.  I traced the negative section of my die-cut banner flowers onto the placemats.  Then I used fabric paint over the tracing.

(Supplies: cardstock; die-cut flowers & letters- Cameo; sequins; hole punch; white pen; twine- We R Memory Keepers; fabric- Joann's; fabric paint- Tulip; sewing machine)

I would like to link this project to the following, please:
*Decorate to Celebrate- (outdoor party or birthday)

I only made 2 placemats for our tiny table, but I think I'm off to make some more. :)  Thank you so much for stopping by.  I greatly appreciate your visit. :D

Christmas Crafts

Happy Christmas Eve!!!

Yowzers!!!  Can't believe I haven't posted anything since last week!!  Thank you to those of you who still check in to see if anything new is up though.  :)
I mentioned last week that I had a couple of things to finish up for Christmas and when I finally got to it, they turned out to be several hundred- ok several dozen. But I'm STILL trying to finish up.  I better hurry.

Ok, let's carry on with the crafty stuff.  Today I am sharing some simple Christmas gifts.  Shhhh, don't tell anyone, but they are for my sister and mom.  I think they are too busy to check out my blog right now, so it will still be a surprise. :D

For my first project, I took some new kitchen towels and spruced them up with some Christmas fabric.

My second project is a set of pillow cases.  I displayed them on my bed so you could visualize them better, but the lighting is TERRIBLE in there.  So I apologize for the bad pic.  These are definitely much brighter than my bedding.

Here is a better look at the bright colors.  It's hard to see in the picture, but the fabric has some gold designs that shine in the light.  Looks very pretty. :D

(Supplies: fabric- Joann's, kitchen towels)

Well, I better continue with my to-do list if I'm to finish tonight.  I wish all of you a Merry Christmas full of peace, love, laughter and joy.

Happy Crafting,
Angie

Thankful Placemats

Happy Weekend!!!

I hope you have recovered from the Thanksgiving holiday.  We were blessed to be able to join friends and then family.  That's right, I ate twice. :)  And I could go for some more turkey and fixings right now!!

Well, with this week I was inspired to make some Thanksgiving placemats.  The first set are similar to these here since I had left over pumpkin fabric.

Here is the Thanksgiving side

Here is the Christmas side

And here is the second set:

What type of Thanksgiving or Christmas projects have you made?
Well, I guess I better get to cleaning and working on some birthday projects.  Thank you for stopping by and have a fabulous weekend.

Pasta Placemats

Happy Weekend!!

Did you enjoy Halloween?  We sure did.  Aside from being a fun, spooky holiday, it's also my mum's birthday.  :)  So we got together, ate a LOT, and the little ones went trick or treating.

Well, today I will be sharing the gift that I made for my momma.  A while back she got a new table that seats 8 people.  Yes, it's a big table, but it's also a big family. :p  So what do you think I made her?.... That's right! Placemats!

Here is the front side:

Here is back side 1:

Here is back side 2:

(Supplies: fabric- Joann's and Beverly's Fabrics, sewing machine & other notions)

What do I mean by back side 1 and 2?  When I bought the bandana fabric, I only got 1 yard for a totally different project.  Then I decided to use it for the placemats and went to get more.  Apparently, they were different and didn't even notice till I began to pin them together!  Luckily, mom was ok with it. :)

Whole set:

I hope she liked them. :)  And I hope you enjoy your weekend.  Thank you so, so much for stopping by.  It warms my heart when you do.  :)

Happy Crafting,
Angie

Babysitting, Tutoring, Healing

Howdy Folks,

I feel like I've been away forever since I haven't had time to post in the past few days.  What with babysitting my adorable niece, tutoring my sweet nephew, getting sick, going to doctor's appointments, & trying to clean & organize my home well, there wasn't much time for anything else.
But I can take a moment now to breathe. Ahhhhhh....  :)

Today I am sharing a scrapbook layout that I recently completed.  I apologize for the bad lighting.  I should have waited till morning to take the pictures, but I was too excited and wanted to post them today.  :)  You'll notice that I used pink glitter glue in certain spots, but for some weird reason it looks green on the black "Smile" tag.  I also added a couple of little pearls from the Bridal Collection by David Tutera on the flowers.

Christmas in July???  Well, I have been in a "Christmasy" spirit because I've been able to play with my crafting toys this summer.  :)   Usually, I don't have that luxury during the summer.  So, here is a Thanksgiving/Christmas project that I'd like to share: double-sided placemats.

Again, I apologize for my tardiness in posting.  And I REALLY, REALLY appreciate that you're taking the time to check out this blog.

Red All Around

Hello Y'all,

Well, I'm excited because I just submitted my VERY FIRST scrapbook layout to a scrapbooking magazine!!!  I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they'll accept it.  I'm not able to share it yet, but I will once I get the ok.  If I'm not accepted, then I will just be content that I got to scrapbook some of my memorabilia.  I'm going to continue submitting my crafts to various magazines, so I'll let you know how that works out....

Anyways, here are some cards that I'd like to share with you.

Aside from paper crafting, I also enjoy sewing.  So here is one of my sewing projects.  This is a craft/ teaching apron and I sewed sections of various widths for pockets.  I actually wear an apron while teaching.  I was CONSTANTLY losing my pens, markers, & other small items around the class.  This completely saved me hunting time and my sanity.  :)

It looks like I've been using red quite a bit...  Have a wonderful Monday and thanks for stopping by!
