Oh, Boy!

Howdy Y'all!!!

How was your Christmas?  Are you recuperating from all the busyness of it?  I was finally able to breathe at the end, and I even had time to visit a good friend of mine.  :D

Well, let's carry one with the craftiness.  :)  Today I am sharing some baby projects that I am entering into the City Crafter Challenge Blog

First, a simple tag:

And second, a gift bag:

(Supplies for both projects: Cameo machine, pattern paper, cardstock, sequins, gel pen, stickers, rub on letters, vellum, ribbon, stamps- Papertrey Ink, twine, button, sewing machine)

For the bottom part of the bag, I created a little shaker section with vellum and sequins.  I cut out the onesies with my Cameo machine and created some faux "stitching" around them with a gel pen.
Well, friends, time for me to finish some chores.  Thank you so, so much for stopping by, and I hope you enjoy your weekend!

Christmas Crafts

Happy Christmas Eve!!!

Yowzers!!!  Can't believe I haven't posted anything since last week!!  Thank you to those of you who still check in to see if anything new is up though.  :)
I mentioned last week that I had a couple of things to finish up for Christmas and when I finally got to it, they turned out to be several hundred- ok several dozen. But I'm STILL trying to finish up.  I better hurry.

Ok, let's carry on with the crafty stuff.  Today I am sharing some simple Christmas gifts.  Shhhh, don't tell anyone, but they are for my sister and mom.  I think they are too busy to check out my blog right now, so it will still be a surprise. :D

For my first project, I took some new kitchen towels and spruced them up with some Christmas fabric.

My second project is a set of pillow cases.  I displayed them on my bed so you could visualize them better, but the lighting is TERRIBLE in there.  So I apologize for the bad pic.  These are definitely much brighter than my bedding.

Here is a better look at the bright colors.  It's hard to see in the picture, but the fabric has some gold designs that shine in the light.  Looks very pretty. :D

(Supplies: fabric- Joann's, kitchen towels)

Well, I better continue with my to-do list if I'm to finish tonight.  I wish all of you a Merry Christmas full of peace, love, laughter and joy.

Happy Crafting,
Angie

Latte Love

Hello!!!

How is your week going?  Christmas is ALMOST here and I'm not even ready!!  I should be panicking, but I'm sure I will in a few days. ;)

Well, let's get on to the crafty stuff.  My hubby asked for a "thank you" card the other day, and I was shocked to find only one.  So last night I decided to remedy that situation using a cute stamp set from Fiskars called "Latte Love".

Here are some detail pictures:

(Supplies: pattern paper, cardstock, stamps- Fiskars, brad- Recollections, twine- My Mind's Eye, pop dots)

I usually steer away from yellow and was uncertain about using it as my base, but I've decided I like it. :)
By the way, I dedicate this card to all of you who stop by and visit. I appreciate your company. :D  Have a great day.

Happy Crafting,
Angie

P.S.  This summer I discovered the DIY & decorating blog called Tatertos & Jello by Jen Hadfield.  She is super crafty and creative.  Well, now she will have her own scrapbooking line based on her cottage remodel.  Lucky gal!!  And to celebrate, she is having a giveaway.  So stop by her blog and check it out!

Tis the Season

Howdy!

How was your weekend?  Mine included lots of driving, but we got to see friends that we hadn't seen in over a year, so it was worth it.  :D

Well, since I have to catch up on some things, I'll be brief today.  :)
I am sharing a Christmas card that I completed recently.  I didn't have a whole lot of time to craft, but I was itching to create something.  Enter Project Life/ Journaling Cards to the rescue.

(Supplies: pattern paper & journaling card- Reflections Christmas by Echo Park, cardstock, sequins, stitching)

Simple yet colorful. :) Have a fabulous day and I want you to know that I truly appreciate you stopping by!  :D

Santa Time

Hola Everyone!

How ya doing?  Can I say what CRAZY weather we've had?!  I've actually been chilly the past week, but I ran some errands later today and didn't even need a sweater.  It was actually warm for December, but if you ask my sisters, they'll totally disagree. :)

Well, speaking of siblings, I have a layout of 2 of the younger ones, although  they are much older now. I used the Dec. sketch from Artful Delight.

DECEMBER LAYOUT SKETCH ASC #39

Here are some detail pictures:

Sewing a zig-zag stitch diagonally is harder than I thought!!

(Supplies: cardstock, pattern paper- Echo Park, stickers, sequins, die cuts of snowflakes, sleigh & horse- Cameo, rub-on, stitching)

Well, lovely folks, that does it for me today.  Thank you for stopping by and enjoy your day.

Silent Night

Happy Monday!!

The Thanksgiving weekend totally threw me off my course and I feel like I am FINALLY getting back to my routine.  But I have a feeling I'll be thrown off again soon. ;D

Well, today I am sharing a card that I am entering into 2 challenges: Papercraft Star, which is to use the inspiration photo and Scrapping 4 Fun Challenges, which is an "Anything Goes" challenge.

This is the inspiration photo for Papercraft Star:

And here is my card:

(Supplies: cardstock, sequins, die cut- Cameo, black marker)

I wrote the sentiment on a banner, since I didn't have a stamp.  Then I ran the edge of the banner against a black marker to make it stand out a bit more.
So what have you created lately?  I think I need to go "create" some lunch. :D

Have a fabulous day and thank you for stopping by.

Red Wedding

Happy Weekend!

Today I was expecting an easy day, since I had nothing pressing to do.  But out of nowhere, things just popped up and piled on.  And to top it off, my computer has a mind of its own lately.  Ever had one of those days?

This is how I was feeling.
Ok, much better now. :D
Today I am sharing a wedding layout.  But I must confess that I am BEHIND, because this wedding was years ago.  In fact, the couple now has 2 adorable little kiddos.  I know, I know. :-/
Some detail pictures:

(Supplies: cardstock, pattern paper- Best Creations Inc., stickers, letter rub-ons, photo corners, glitter glue- Martha Stewart, stitching)

Well, I hope you have a relaxing, easy-going weekend.  Thank you for visiting.  I appreciate it very much. :)

Hanging Out

Hello All!

Are you enjoying this week?  How many of you have finished your Christmas shopping?  Me? Not at all!!!  I better hurry, though...

Well, today I am popping in to share a layout.  I struggled with this layout because I didn't have coordinating papers or embellishments.  In fact, I never do.  I think I really need to start buying kits.  Hmmm...

So here is the result:

A few detail pictures first. (Tried to create "subway" style stamping)

I just LOVE those chipmunk cheeks! :D
(Supplies: pattern paper- Recollections, washi tape, sequins, twine- My Mind's Eye, Journaling card, stickers- Bella Blvd. & Kelly Panacci, stamps- Papertrey Ink, ink- Prima)

This is what I love about scrapbooking- documenting life.  Well, I have LOTS to do so better run.  Have an awesome day and thank you for visiting. :D

Sweet Stockings

Howdy!

How was your Thanksgiving holiday?  Are you sick of turkey by now?  Normally, I would be, however, not this time. :) ....

I know many of you already have your Christmas decorations up, but not me.  Guess what's on my to-do list for today?  ;)  However, I just hung up a small stocking banner.  And that's what I'm sharing today.

I found a stocking pattern by Cynthia Shaffer in one of my magazines (Stitch, Craft, Create) so I used it to trace it over pattern paper.

Side 2:

(Supplies: pattern paper- Studio Calico, cardstock, stocking pattern, ribbon, pinking scissors)

Since the pattern paper is double sided, I'll switch the stockings to the other side later on in the month.  Hmmm, I think I'll try to make fabric stockings now. Have a great day and thank you for visiting.

Thankful Placemats

Happy Weekend!!!

I hope you have recovered from the Thanksgiving holiday.  We were blessed to be able to join friends and then family.  That's right, I ate twice. :)  And I could go for some more turkey and fixings right now!!

Well, with this week I was inspired to make some Thanksgiving placemats.  The first set are similar to these here since I had left over pumpkin fabric.

Here is the Thanksgiving side

Here is the Christmas side

And here is the second set:

Holly Holiday Card

Hello!

Are you ready for another week?  Luckily, this week includes my favorite holiday!!  I am so ready for some turkey, mashed taters, gravy, pumpkin pie- I'm getting hungry already!

Ok, enough about food.  Let's get on with the crafts. :)
Today I am sharing a card.  This one was made with the same pattern paper as my "Holiday Tree Delight" card.  However, I used the first November card sketch from Sketch N Scrap

Card Sketches due November 30th

Here is my card:

(Supplies: pattern paper, sequins, holly stamp- Recollections, sentiment- Papertrey Ink, twine- We R Memory Keepers, frame stamp- Sassafras, ink- Color Box, glitter glue- Martha Stewart)

So what's your favorite Thanksgiving dishes?
I still have several projects to complete before Thanksgiving, so I better get to it.  Thank you for stopping by and have a great day.  :)

Birthday Bash!

Happy Weekend!

I hope you are enjoying your weekend.  Mine has been great so far. :)

I have been working on some layouts for the past couple of weeks.  And even though I completely enjoy this craft, I found myself getting super frustrated.  One of the reasons for my frustration is the fact that I don't always have the right colors, patterns/style of papers or embellishments.  Another reason is that my layouts don't look like the cool, trendy, popular ones in magazines or online.
But I finally came across a quote that was eye-opening & sooo liberating [insert a chorus of angels singing here ;)]:

               "If I create from the heart, nearly everything works;
if from the head, almost nothing."  -Marc Chagall

BINGO.  So I just need to do the best I can with my limited resources and stop overthinking things.
Kind of ironic now that I think of it.  The reason I named my blog "Heart 'n Soul Crafts" is because those are ingredients in each of my projects.  Ay ya yay!

Sorry for the wordy intro.  Here is one of my "overthinking" layouts. :)

(Supplies: pattern paper- Recollections, cardstock, sequins, stickers, stitching)

It saddens me to know that he is my last living grandparent, but I'm glad for moments like these.  And at 92, he is still able to do a lot on his own.
Well, time for me to go create from my heart. :)  Enjoy the rest of your weekend and as always, THANK YOU for stopping by.

Happy Crafting,
Angie

Holiday Tree Delight

Happy Friday!!!!

Got any fun plans for the weekend?  Mine will start with another get together and I just love that.

Ok, on to the project.  Last night I was in my creative mojo and I was able to complete a card for this month's Artful Delight card sketch. Here is the sketch:

NOVEMBER CARD SKETCH ASC #38

Here is my card:

A few detail pictures first.  I added "snow" & "Christmas lights" with some glue and glitter.

(Supplies: pattern paper, cardstock, die cut tree, glitter glue- Martha Stewart, sequins, white ink- Chalk Box, sentiment- Papertrey Ink, black pen, machine stitching)

I like how this sketch allowed plenty of "white" space on the card.  I think I might use this sketch more often.
And I like how you continue to visit my blog.  I appreciate that.  Have a wonderful weekend.

Happy Crafting,
Angie

P.S.  I recently discovered a new blog- Scrapping 4 Fun and I entered this card to their challenge as well.  The challenge is to use the picture below as inspiration or at least 3 of the colors.
