Snowman & Fiji

Happy Monday!!!

I hope you all had a fun and relaxing weekend.  My weekend was a bit relaxing and a bit of a bummer.  Have you ever poured out your best into something and then been told that it's not good enough??  OUCH.  Yeah, me too.  I've had some high hopes this month, but after that news I feel like I NEVER want to try again...  Ok, I'm done licking my wounds. :-P

When I first started paper crafting, I began with scrapbooking.  And then I found card making and haven't been scrapping much AT ALL.  But I decided that I really, really need to get my boxes (that's right- BOXES) of pictures onto layouts.  So today I will be sharing a layout and a card.

First, the card.  This card was all made with a stamp set from Recollections.  We RARELY get snow here, but I feel like playing with this snowman.  :)

(Supplies: Recollections stamp set, black and white ink- Color Box, sponge dauber, red glitter glue- Martha Stewart)

And now the layout.  I was so fortunate to go to Fiji and visit my friend.  These pictures don't do justice to the magnificent beauty of Fiji.  The water goes from a light turquoise to a dark turquoise.  And the landscape is sooooo green and lush.

Wish I was on that hammock right now!

I traced a die-cut of a shell, cut it, and added my journaling on it.  There's more on the inside.

We went snorkeling and island hopping on a day cruise and the Captain (my friend's husband) allowed me to steer the schooner for a bit.  :)

(Supplies: Bazzill Basics Paper, sequins, shell die-cuts, camera & sentiment stamps- Heidi Swapp, washi tape, alphabet stickers, ocean foil kit, K & Company stickers, Palm Tree brad- Recollections)

Viewing these pictures has chased my blues away. :)  And some day, God willing, I shall return to Fiji along with my husband... And by the way, regarding the bummer news, I'm not quitting.  I shall try and try again and again until I succeed.

Well, time for me to get cooking or exercising.  :)  Thank you for stopping by for a visit.  I welcome your company.  :)

Angie

Fur and Feathers

Hey Y'all!

I hope you have been enjoying your week.  I've been doing a little crafting and I got to visit with great friends last night.  So, it's been a good week.  Plus, we FINALLY have some nice weather!! Now I can dust off my bike and go for a ride.  That's right- no bike riding in the summer.  ;-)

Well, let's get to the crafting projects. :)  For the first card, I stamped a couple of mischievous cats.  The top one looks sooo guilty.

(Supplies: watercolor pencils, stamps- Outlines, Recollections, black ink, sequins)

For my second card, I used another little animal- the feathered kind. I used a stamp set from Hero Arts for the whole card (images to sentiment).

(Supplies: images and sentiment stamps- Hero Arts, ink- Tsukineko & Color Box, glue dots, sewing machine)

Well, I think I should take advantage of this nice weather & go for a bike ride.  I appreciate that you stopped by for a little visit.  Thank you!

Angie

Delightful Layout

Hello All,

I am popping in real quick to share a layout.  Wouldn't you know it- I'm late again!  I meant to enter this layout into Artful Delight's September challenge, but I got my time zones confused.  I need to get me a world clock!!!  And use my agenda. He he...

The quote by Helen Keller really struck a chord with me.  These friends have sure pulled me through some dark times.  May we all cherish our friends.

Thank you SO MUCH for stopping by today.  Have a great day!

Raining Sequins.

Happy Saturday!

I do hope you are relaxing this weekend.  I am sitting here listening to jazz on Pandora and watching the clouds and trees while I blog.  I know- not very exciting.  But it is relaxing. :)
Today I am sharing a card that I created during my mojo moment.

(Supplies: stamp- My Favorite Things, watercolor pencils, sequins, label maker)

I had an idea in my mind regarding the theme of the card, but I didn't have an appropriate stamp for the sentiment.  So I used my label maker for it.
Well, my crafty friends, have a relaxing, creative weekend.  And again, THANK you for stopping by.

Happy Crafting,
Angie

Found Mojo! Late for Challenge.

Hi Crafty Friends!

I hope you are enjoying your weekend.  I was having trouble finding my mojo recently.  But I found it last night!!! :D  I was able to craft up a little storm (I'll be sharing those creations later on).  The first card I am sharing was actually created earlier in the week when I was itching to craft but didn't have much energy.  I used a paper stencil I already had to create the hearts.  I simply filled in the hearts with a sponge dauber, added the sentiment, and some sequins.  It was a really quick card.

(Supplies: heart stencil, red ink- Color Box, sponge dauber, arrow stamp- Heidi Swapp, sentiment- Teresa Collins, sequins)

The next card was for a challenge, but I just realized that I am LATE!  So what's new?...  :-)'  Anyways, the challenge was to use kraft, red, and white for a Christmas card.  Here is my interpretation:

The red panel is actually a leftover strip of "velvety" paper.  I haven't been able to find it again.  It's hard to tell, but I added a tiny drop of white glitter glue to the snowflakes.

(Supplies: Snowflake stamp- Stampendous!, sentiment- Recollections, pearls- David Tutera, white glitter glue- Martha Stewart, red velvet paper,  white ink- Color Box)

My fellow crafters, bloggers, and friends I want to thank you for your patience and for stopping by today.  :)  Have a wonderful, crafty weekend.

Angie

Golden Fall

Hello Blog Friends!

I hope you are enjoying your week.  Today the weather cooled down enough, (90 degrees! If you can call that "cool".) so I could venture into the garage and retrieve my Fall décor.  The weather doesn't quite feel like Fall around here yet, but I am ready for it.  So are my cards. :)

Today's card was created by painting watercolor sections in different "Fall" colors .  When the paint dried, I stamped the leaves over it.

A close up view:

(Supplies: watercolors, watercolor paper, twine- My Mind's Eye, leaf & sentiment stamps- Inkadinkado, pop dots, black ink- Hero Arts)

For those of you who are already experiencing Fall, please send me some cool weather. :)    Well, off to eat dinner and do some crafting. :)  Thank you so much for stopping here today.

Happy Crafting,
Angie

Happy Weekend!

First, I want to start with a "Thank you."  Thank you to everyone who has been taking the time to visit my blog!  It's very encouraging to see your comments and visits.

Today I am sharing a back to school card.  It's actually more fitting for the end of the year, but it's still part of school.  :)   I'm entering this card to the Cas-ual Fridays "Back to School" challenge.

I apologize for the somewhat blurry picture.

I added a little tassel to the graduation cap.

(Supplies: Silhouette pattern, Sentiment- Plaid, pearl- David Tutera, Ink- Hero Arts)

Have you tried the challenge?  If not, go check it out!  :)  Thank you for stopping by and for sharing your time with me.

Autumn's Coming!

Howdy Y'all!

I hope you are enjoying your week.  Hang in there a couple more days and then it's the weekend! :)

Today I'm sharing some cards that I just made.  For the first card, I painted an orange sky using watercolors.  Yes, I know the sky is blue, but I was trying to create a sunset.  :)  After I stamped the haunted house, I traced it with a fine-point pen and completely shaded in the crow.

(Supplies: watercolors, pen, haunted house stamp- Recollections, sentiment- Recollections, ink- Hero Arts)

For the next card, I painted a leaf stamp with orange and red-orange watercolors.  And I lightly added some distress ink to the sentiment banner.  This card was inspired by Laura Bassen's card, which appeared in Creating Keepsakes.

(Supplies: watercolors, small brush, leaf stamp & sentiment- Inkadinkado, black ink- Hero Arts, distress ink- Tim Holtz, brad)

Well, lovely folks, thank you so much for visiting me today. I REALLY do appreciate you stopping by.

Happy Crafting,
Angie

Seize the Day

Happy Sunday!

Weekend is almost gone, but I hope you enjoyed it.  Today I seized the day to craft a little.  :)  I am sharing a card that I created for Seize the Birthday using a sketch from Seize the Sketch Blog.
The flower burst stamp is part of a gelato kit.  I used first and second generation stamping.  Originally, I was going to stick with my usual- ribbon, but I went a different route.

(Supplies: flower stamp-Gelato kit, Red Color Box ink, black ink, sentiment- Plaid set, paper punch- Martha Stewart)

Time for dinner!!!  Thank you to everyone who has been visiting my blog and for joining me today!

Happy Crafting,
Angie

Sending Smiles

Hello All,

I'm popping in real quick to share a card I created yesterday.  I have used this stamp set before, but I really like it, so I used it again.

(Supplies: My Favorite Things stamp set, Versa Mark Ink, embossing powder, colored pencils, ribbon, sewing machine)

I traced the hot-air balloons & 2 of the clouds with watercolor pencils.  Since I only wanted a little bling, I only used embossing powder on one cloud.
Well, it's another short post since Grandma is here visiting. :)

Thanks for hanging out with me for a bit!

Happy Crafting,
Angie

Autumn Greetings

Hi Crafty Friends,

Well, for a 3 day weekend you would have thought that I was going to craft up a storm.  However, chores were calling my name (darn).  So today I have a little card that I made recently.  At first I wasn't going to post it because I wasn't completely satisfied with it (you'll see why).  But I figured I might as well share it.  Also, I couldn't find my mojo today because the cards that I tried earlier just weren't cutting it.

I recently received my Silhouette glitter and I was trying to add some sparkle to the pumpkins, but the glue wasn't coming out smoothly.  I used a glue pen on the first and second pumpkins, but the line was too thick.  So I tried Elmer's glue on the last pumpkin, but it was too lumpy!!  I need to find a better strategy.

Well, I guess I better dismiss myself since my hubby is anxiously waiting to use the computer. :)  Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Crafting,
Angie
